What is a shareable Stripe revenue dashboard?

A shareable Stripe revenue dashboard is a limited, aggregate view of selected revenue metrics for a defined period. It is designed to communicate a trend without giving every recipient access to the Stripe Dashboard or exposing customer, invoice, email, payment-method, or transaction-level records.

Create a reviewable snapshot

Choose the metric, period, comparison, and reporting currency; generate the chart; then review the title, timestamp, units, and aggregate values against Stripe. Remove fields the audience does not need before sharing. A founder update may use MRR and growth, while a finance review may need a different source report and stricter controls.

Stripe's Billing analytics documentation explains MRR and customer movement definitions. State the selected definition next to the chart so recipients do not confuse recurring revenue with recognized revenue or cash.

Permissions, roles, and link security

Access is currently request-based. The released Stripe installation screen must list the exact data permissions, and an account administrator should approve only the required scope. Keep snapshot creation with authorized finance, founder, or revenue-operations roles. Stripe also documents role-aware UI extensions for limiting functionality by Dashboard role.

Aggregate does not automatically mean public. Anyone who receives an unrestricted link may be able to forward it. Confirm the intended audience, avoid customer-level fields, and use an access-controlled channel for confidential metrics. Review the Workestic Privacy Policy before requesting access.

Role-based use cases

  • Founders can attach a concise trend chart to a weekly or monthly operating update.
  • Finance can provide a reviewed aggregate view while retaining detailed reconciliation internally.
  • Revenue operations can standardize metric names, periods, and comparison logic across teams.
  • Board or investor recipients can see the approved snapshot without receiving Stripe account access.

The Stripe revenue chart sharing guide covers audience and review choices in more detail.

Limits and reporting edge cases

A snapshot is not an audit, attestation, financial statement, or live guarantee. Refunds, disputes, failed payments, discounts, taxes, subscription changes, multiple currencies, time zones, metric configuration, and source-data delays can change the number or its interpretation. The sample business and figures above are illustrative.

For accounting use cases, reconcile against the appropriate source and follow the official Stripe Revenue Recognition reports. Add the snapshot time and reporting period to every share, and regenerate the chart when source data or metric definitions change.
